Happy Chinese New Year!
I’m so glad I got today started off on the right foot because that means the rest of the year will be equally great! The Sweet Escape came on my last.fm radio on my morning commute and I’ve been in a fantastic mood ever since. My co-worker also gave me yummy treats like a lotus pastry, chewy milk rabbit candy, and a milk flavored hard candy.
I like that the lunar new year occurs one month after the calendar new year because it’s a good check-in point for my goals and resolutions. While my calendar goals are a lot more self-involved and material (get in shape, decorate my room, spend less money on clothes, etc…) I find that the goals or rather ‘outlook’ I set for myself at this time of year are lot more personal and meaningful. I want to focus on being more positive (I think I generally have been since moving to San Francisco, but I want to get to a point where I don’t fall victim to stress or mood swings), and appreciating all the good people in my life who really care about me more (you know who you are).
