2011: Travel Retrospective

2011 was my first year in the professional world and I definitely took advantage of the paychecks, vacation days, and paid holidays. Here’s a little retrospective of everywhere I visited and my favorite photographs from each trip.

Peach Paradise
My last picture from SLO! Taken on the balcony of our room at the Sanitarium. I got this top at Sway for $24, saw almost an exact replica at Anthropologie last weekend for around $50… Go me! I thought the ensemble needed a bit more texture so tied my bow-pattern silk scarf around the belt loop of my shorts (from J.Crew).

The Sanitarium
This was the balcony connected to our room. I love all the lush foliage & vintage furniture. So cool!

The Sanitarium
The huge bathroom at the Sanitarium. It came with this huge steam shower. What is a steam shower, you may ask? It only solves one of the world’s greatest problems— how do two people share a shower without fighting to stand under the hot water? You put the shower in an insulated room with a thermostat and basically turn that shit into a mini sauna.

The Sanitarium
Is a bed & breakfast we stayed at one night in SLO. It’s owned by four artists and is simply the cutest space— everything is whitewashed and vintage and there’s a freaking stainless steel tub in the middle of room (yes I did take a bath in it and it was awesome).

Spring Rolls @ Novo
Is there nothing better than eating outside at night on a well-weathered day?

Monterey St. Wines
Here is a picture from our afternoon of wine tasting in SLO! I wanted to drive out to Paso Robles to do tasting but since it was just Rob & I it wouldn’t have been as fun if only one of us got to drink and the other had to drive. So we walked into downtown and did some tastings there. I honestly forgot what most of the stuff we tasted were but they were all local central coast wines and pretty smooth!
